Robert Tumusiime is the senior eLearning officer at Kabale University. He holds a Bachelors degree of Computer Science from Makerere University and a Masters of Information Technology from UTAMU. He is a zealous believer in the importance of sharing and open data. He has led a number of projects focusing on both the technology and application of eLearning for a number of institutions in East Africa.
Robert has gone through a number of professional training including entrepreneurs’ skills development, International Certification for Digital Literacy – ICDL, Network Security, Satellite Communications and CCNA among others. He has worked on a number of Web projects using MOODLE for eLearning, Drupal, WordPress, HTML, CSS, BOOTSRAP, PHP and MYSQL for web based systems.
Robert worked with Makerere University College of Computing and Uganda Technology and Management University in the education sector as course instructor, lecturer and eLearning support. He is also a certified ICDL trainer with 8+ years training experience and also an e-learning systems developer and trainer. Robert has trained members of the East African Community, Médecins Sans Frontières Uganda, US Embassy Uganda, MasterCard Foundation, UNESCO, Uganda Registration Services Bureau, KIU, Uganda Police Force, UTAMU, PPDA Uganda and Government of South Sudan officials among others.
Robert has taught a number of courses including Software development Principles, Software Evolution, Event driven programming, Internet technologies and Website design, Computer Applications, Systems Administration and short courses in Advanced Spreadsheets for Managers, ICDL, web development, Moodle based eLearning systems administration and Graphics design among others.
Robert believes that technology has come to stay and everyone deserves to have a fair understanding of the basics.
